Virtual Pets

adopt your own virtual pet!

Sharon's so smart! She managed to find a brown doggie cartoon figure (in honour of me!) and she decided to post it on this blog...the brown toony dog even wags its tail! (Move your mouse around the dog's head and its head would follow and turn to the direction of the mouse! Click on the Puppy Treats and a bone will appear! The doggie will bark too!) Boy, am I lucky to have an owner like Sharon! She REALLY loves me!!! Check it out! And for those who wish to own pets but cannot afford the time/ money to do so, please adopt a virtual pet. It's better than buying one and then neglecting it. There was a case in the papers a few days back: a man was fined S$3000 for causing the death of his Alaskan malamute dog. He had left the dog with its thick double layer fur coat out in the sun with no water to drink and in a filthy and dangerous environment (the yard was strewn with faeces and sharp tools). The poor doggie eventually died of heatstroke and when I saw the photo of the dead dog in the papers, I wept and cringed as it had blood foaming out of its nostrils....I could imagine the pain and agony it went through! I think that's really diabolical on the owner's part! What did the dog do to deserve such cruel treatment? The man only got away with a fine! That's not justice, in my opinion! How can one just pay a fine for the death of an animal caused by outright cruelty and negligence and expect to get away with it? One cannot put a price or a net worth to a life! We are all living creatures who have feelings and emotions and we all deserve a right to live and to the sanctity of life! I don't wish to be mean as I am very good-natured, but personally, I wish that the man goes to jail for a longer period of time, gets 24 strokes of the cane, gets no food and water while in prison and gets chained by a short leash to the backyard of the prison in a double-layered fur coat with faeces and sharp tools all around him; all under the blazing tropical heat. That will finally make him realise what his poor dog went through. His poor dog who had given him all the unconditional love, trust and loyalty in this world only to be repayed with such horrendous treatment!

A volunteer from the Action of Singapore Dogs has started a petition regarding a longer jail term for animal abusers. Please sign the petition and give us a voice that will be heard. Speak up for us; we are also God's creatures: http://www.petitiononline.com/malamute/petition.html

True Loyalty

A certain credit card company claims that it will 'go the extra mile for you'. Another bank commercial says that they 'will always be there for you'. Yet, another well-known insurance company stresses that they 'will always be caring and watching for you and your loved one'. I have been watching lots of TV with Sharon and Jules lately, so I get to see lots of commercials ( I only like the ones on dog food!). Personally, I don't believe all that these commercials claim-- with regards to loyalty. I mean, how loyal can they be as compared to doggies like us? There is always a commercial element involved. For us, loyalty is unconditional. There is no other form of loyalty stronger than a dog's loyalty. Nothing beats a dog's loyalty to his/ her master; not even death. There have been cases of dogs getting killed while trying to defend their masters. That's common for all of us; it's a universal doggie trait and a common canine characteristic. We go MORE than the extra mile...in fact, we even walk thousand of miles on foot, just to get back to our beloved masters. There have also been documented cases of super loyal dogs who refuse to leave their master's grave and these dogs eventually die there; right next to their masters! That's how loyal we are! Needless to say, we will always be there for our masters and their families. We love and care for them and will always be watching over them.

Actually, I will never go to bed unless both Sharon and Jules are asleep. If either one of them is not asleep, I will accompany him/ her and I will only retire when he/ she finally goes to sleep. Lately, Jules has been working so hard. He's been doing work on his laptop and settling a lot of paperwork (thus, I don't chew those papers) till the wee hours of the morning. I want him to go and sleep but he has so much to do. So, I accompany him while he does his work and sometimes, I will fall asleep at his lap. But, I know that I am appreciated cos' he will pat me to sleep and tell me that I am a 'good girl'. That makes me very contented and it is certainly worth losing the sleep and going the extra mile for my master. I have noticed some eye bags lately; perhaps I will use some of Sharon's eye cream when she is at work! Let's hope she will not discover the paw prints on her vanity counter! :-)

Morning Wake Up Call

I had just realised that I forgot to post my photo of me trying to wake Sharon up from bed with my paws. Here's my morning call photo....Sharon, please wake up! Brownie wants breakfast!

Rise and Shine!

Good morning! Rise and Shine! The early bird gets the worm, the early dog gets the bone and the early human beings get their Big Breakfast at Mickey Dees! Ok, you get the hint! Brownie wakes up a hungry dog after many hours of sleep as she runs around the sunny cornfields chasing birds and she nips the postman's ankles in her doggie dreams. That burns off a significant number of calories! According to Sharon, when I am in a state of deep sleep and while I am visiting Dreamland, I actually make soft, yappy barks and my legs move around as if I am running. Sharon has tried to film me on video, but so far, she's got no luck because she will usually get so excited and all her excitement will wake me up. Sharon and Jules love to see me in that state cos' they find me extra cute, especially when I make those yappy barks. Too bad, Karen has only seen me move my legs; she's never heard my Dreamland bark yet.

Anyway, back to breakfast again. When I was living with Mummy, Daddy and Sharon, Mummy used to cook me a sumptuous breakfast to start my day! She'd give me a bowl of milk, a piece of buttered toast and one fried egg! (Now, you know where my calories came from!) But as the old saying goes, it's no fun partaking a meal alone, so I like to have human company around me when I eat! Daddy usually goes off to work early, Mummy is busy with household chores, so I leave her alone. The only person left for me to call to share my breakfast with is Sharon! So, I will usually sneak into her room, pull off her blanket and bark at her to wake up. Most of the time, it does not work, so I have to put my head on her bed and literally breathe down her face! Haha! That wakes her up! Sometimes, the sudden sight of waking up with a huge doggie face in front of her eyes scares her and she will jolt out of bed! That's really funny!

Here's a photo of me with my paw on the bed...I am pawing at Sharon and asking her to wake up and make me breakfast! My nails are a little long, so she will be taking me for a "paw-dicure" soon :-)

Those were the good old days...but now that I've moved in with Jules and Sharon, things have changed. They are busy executives with no time to cook breakfast, so I get dried doggie food and no human company to start my day! :-( But, I always look forward to dinner cos' Sharon eats in front of the TV with me (I get to watch TV!) and Jules will feed me some scraps when I beg. And best of all, I get to snuggle at their feet or next to them after the meal and this comes with my free dosage of TLC! Here's another photo of me eating Japanese ramen noodles! I struggled with the chopsticks for a while, but hey, I learn fast!

Vital Statistics

I overheard Karen telling Sharon that she would be measuring my vital statistics again real soon! In case you're puzzled, let me explain: Humans go for their dental check-up once in 6 months and they go for a general medical check-up once a year or so. Besides my yearly visit to the vet, Karen actually measures me with measuring tape once every 6 months! I'm not too proud of my statistics so far. So, the only thing I will reveal is my (now non-existent) waistline. I measured a full 30" at the waist at the last measurement in Dec 2004! Wow! That's like me fitting into a pair of Levis! Waist measurement aside, Karen also measures my body length and she takes my weight too (that's secret)!

And for those who DO NOT believe that I have a 30-inch waistline, here are some photos to prove it! Seeing IS believing! I need to go for hour-long walks and to go on a no-carbo/ all protein diet soon with no snacks, no junk food and water only and the occasional treat of low fat milk! Yuk yuk.... :-(( That's extremely sad news for a foodie doggie like me...but I really want to live to a ripe old age and have a long and fulfilling life! I also want to spend many many good, quality-filled years with Sharon and Jules cos' I love them so much!!

Playtime!

Sharon's back!! Yippeee!!!! I missed her so much during those agonising 5 days, I hardly ate or slept! I had even lost a few inches from my tummy and now that she is back, life for me is back to normal! I missed my master so much! I had been such a good girl and Jules had nothing but praises for me when Sharon asked if I had behaved myself.

Poor Sharon was so busy with work, she did not manage to shop around while she was overseas. So, she did not get me anything, but you know what? It does not matter to me! My master is back and that is what counts! I was so excited when she came back; when I saw her dragging her luggage out from the cab, I was barking and whining non-stop! I swore the entire block could hear me and I might have irritated a few neighbours for those few minutes...but who cares? I was welcoming my master back with all the love from the botton of my brown heart and I summoned every ounce of my doggie energy to show her my act of love!

Now that Sharon is back, I am playing with my toys again! Yes! I have a basket full of toys and everyday, I will make Sharon or Jules play with me! I'd bite a toy, run like a racehorse around the house, pounce on the furniture, bark at them and force them to play 'catch' with me! It's so fun! Usually, I win as I have four legs! Four legs good, two legs bad (quote from Snowball & Napolean from Animal Farm)! Haha!! Sometimes, Jules will grab me in the midst of racing. He will then proceed to swing me round a few times and he will do a DDT or RKO (WWE wrestling moves) on me before he will let me go! It's rough play sometimes, but it's fun and good exercise! Check me out with my blue squeaky rubber ball and my (now) one-legged Woodstock. I'm such a smart doggie, I have also found another use for the blue rubber ball besides using it as a squeaky toy. Whenever I want to go to the toilet at the great outdoors, I will run around the coffee table non-stop with the ball in my mouth and start whining. The sight of me running round the table and the sounds of the squeaky ball and my whining combined never fails to drive everyone nuts and they will have no choice but to take me out for my toilet trip and for my walk! Aren't I a smart doggie?

SAD...

Today, I was very sad. Sharon went overseas for a business trip. Jules says that she will be away for 5 days! 5 DAYS!!!! Boo hoo hoo! According to Jules, when humans go away for business trips, they take a plane and fly away to a foreign land to discuss trade and business, seal contracts and deals and do negotiations. Jules was so nice. He took me for longer walks, talked to me, fed me extra snacks and he even read me a bedtime story to cheer me up! But, I still miss Sharon a lot and I had been crying the whole day. My master is a million miles away in a strange land! I really miss her!! My brown heart aches so much, I could die of sadness and grief! Sharon, please come back soon! 5 days is like an eternity for loyal doggies like me! We must have our daily dose of our master's love and affection! I promise to be the best doggie in the world when you come home! I will do the dishes, mop the floor, clean the windows, wash your car, take out the trash, iron your clothes... all with my four paws! Please come home soon, ok? Jules took an awfully sad-looking shot of me. I cried myself to sleep on the sofa and was in no mood to smile and pose for pictures. I miss Sharon... :'-(

Nicknames

Nicknames. Do you have any? Everyone out there has at least one. Some are nice, complimentary and flattering (like Sexy, Handsome, Smartie, Brainy, Genius...). Others may be not-so-nice (like Fatty, Slob, Dumbo...). Guess what? I have so many nicknames, I actually have to list them down. Some are quite cute-sounding but a few are not so complimentary...here goes:

1) Brown Monster (by Karen)- Short form of it is BM; not the one on wheels, but the one with 4 legs.
2) Brownie Roo (by Sharon)- I look like a kangaroo from the back when I stand on my hind legs.
3) RooBarka (by Sharon)- I have the same fur colour as Chubaka from Star Wars. Thank God I don't have his face!
4) Brown Bicycle Seat (by Karen)- From the shape of my head. If you look closely from the correct angle, it does look like a furry bicycle seat with eyes and ears. (See photo).
5) Big Bad Woof (by Karen)- I look a bit like the Big Bad Wolf in Little Red Riding Hood.
6) Black Hole (by Jules)- From my never-ending appetite for food.
7) Bottomless Pit (by Jules)- Same reason as (6)

and my all time favourite nickname (by Karen): THE BEST DOGGIE IN THE WORLD!

Gold-Mining

Hygiene. It is essential to keep clean as we will look good, smell nice and feel great! Being clean also keeps the germs and bugs away. From what I have observed, humans bathe everyday! I get my showers once a week. Bath time is a challenge for me as Sharon and Karen would have to chase me round the house and herd me like a cow into the bathroom. I think they feel like farmers on the ranch while they do that! Sometimes, I act and pretend to play dead when I know that they are going to bathe me. I would pretend to lie on the floor and I would give them a scared and pitiful look and I would refuse to move. On other occasions, I would tense up and clench my paws. It makes it hard for me to move and Karen has to literally drag me upright on four legs to the toilet. It is quite comical to Karen and Sharon and they find that sight rather amusing. Sometimes, Karen has to bring the snack bottle to the toilet and shake it inside the bathroom. When I go in, she would shut the door and trap me. No choice: that's the price I pay for my greed! :-( There was another time where Karen lured me to the window on the pretense that there was something interesting to look at. The minute I was there, she threw a towel over me, grabbed me and carried all 30+kgs of me to the toilet! Wow, I never knew that she was that strong! I am quite scared of baths as I do not like the initial feeling of water flowing over me. I will usually walk all around the bathroom when they try to bathe me too. Karen and Sharon bathe me with warm water and fragrant-smelling special doggie shampoo. Karen even sings and talks to me while she is cleaning me! But once I learn to relax while getting my spa treatment, I kind of enjoy it! :-) After the bath, Karen will clean my teeth with canine toothpaste (I hate that!) and she will also clean my ears with a cotton bud and with some anti-ear mite solution. I think Karen should be a vet! I used to be scared of the ear-cleaning procedure but since she is so gentle, I enjoy it right now. Karen digs out so much black gold from my ear cavities (gold-mining), she can soon open a jewellery shop! Here's a picture of me getting my ears cleaned! Check out that funny look on my face!

Cars

I get to go for car rides sometimes as a treat for being a good girl! Sharon and Jules will either take me to the vet (that's not a reward, actually!) or to Karen's house for a day of pampering. I wished that they had more time... I am sure they would take me for long spins!

I saw Jules watching Fomula One racing on TV that day and boy, it looked really thrilling! I wish that I can learn to drive! I'd drive Sharon and Jules to work, Karen to church and Sharon to the shopping mall! But sadly, I tried to hold the steering wheel once with my paws and got scolded instead :-( I think Sharon read my mind about my desire to drive and she got me a car that day!! Well, it's not a real car to drive in but a toy rubber car for me to chew on! It even squeaks whenever I chew on it! Isn't that cool? So, doggies like me cannot drive...but since I have one to chew on and to exercise my oral muscles, I'm contented. (PS: I think I will look smashing in a red Ferrari with my red T-shirt, don't you think so? Anyway, here's some cool pictures of me and my chewy lime green rubber car. Check it out...it even has wheels, headlights and windows!)

Screensaver & Wallpaper

Jules took this candid shot last year of me with his mobile phone! I was standing by the window at Mummy's house and I wanted to wave 'goodbye' to him. But since I needed to use my paws for support, I gave him my best smile instead! Everyone loves this picture! Karen and Sharon both use it on their mobile phones as screensavers and wallpapers. It's a sweet way of keeping me in their hearts when they are on the go :-)

Make Poverty History/ LIVE 8

I might have been a stray dog in the past, but I have a BIG, charitable heart. My past experience of canine poverty allows me to empathise strongly with the poor, marginalised, voiceless and homeless. I saw Karen surfing the Net a few days back and she was so engrossed with the "Make Poverty History" and "LIVE 8" websites. She's lived in London before, so anything that happens in that part of the world naturally interests her. She even bought a white silicon wristband that says: "Make Poverty History". Isn't that cool? For those who are unaware, the LIVE 8 concerts are a series of concerts that are held simultaneously in London, Edinburgh, Rome, Paris, Philadelphia, Tokyo, Berlin, South Africa, Canada and Moscow. In fact, Karen is now helping me to update this blog while listening to the "Live" concert from Hyde Park (thanks to BBC Radio 1)! What a pity there are no such concerts here in Singapore! We should also participate in such international charity events! I am sure Karen, Sharon and Jules will attend the concert if they have it here and I am sure they will bring me along too!

LIVE 8 intends to raise awareness regarding the terrible state of poverty in Third World countries. There will be a G8 summit meeting next week in Scotland and the organisers of LIVE 8 hope that the G8 and the rich First World nations would do their part in helping to eradicate world poverty by doubling the aid to Third World countries, dropping the oustanding debt and by making trade fair (Free Trade is NOT fair trade). Just think about it: 8 powerful men who meet next week carry the fate and future of millions in their hands. The purpose of LIVE 8 is not to raise money, but awareness. If that does not connect to you, think about this: Every 3 seconds, an African child dies and every single day, 30 000 children die because of poverty. That's a very sad statistic. It also means bad news for doggies like me as many of us would be destinied to remain strays since kids living in poverty cannot afford to adopt strays like us. So, do your part for the poor kids in the Third World countries who are facing a bleak future because of stark poverty. Many may not even live to see tomorrow. Please sign the online petition or buy a white "Make Poverty History" wristband. You can also buy a cool t-shirt or mug from the webpage too. It's your choice.

http://shop.sandbag.uk.com/MakePovertyHistory/Store/DisplayAllItems.html
http://www.live8live.com/

I wished I could do more, but since I am only a doggie, I will say a long prayer for social justice tonight for all the poor in the Third World. All of us are God's creatures and none of us should suffer because of any sort of inequalities due to the unequal distribution of resources. May the income gap between the rich and poor be narrowed as soon as possible. Together, we can do more for the world's poorest countries! God bless everyone out there; doggies too!

PS: If they made those white wristbands for doggies, I am sure Karen would buy 4 for me to wear around my paws! Make that 5....I forgot to count my tail!

My Arch Enemy

A sweet and loving dog like me with such a great personality loves everyone! OK...everyone, except for this particular wooden handicraft cat that Sharon has on her shelf. Sharon got this wooden cat from some handicraft market in Bali and for some unexplainable reason, I really hate it!! Every time I walk past the shelf, I HAVE to bark at it. Oh, that evil-looking cat has a name, by the way...Sharon and Karen decided to call it Meow Meow after I starting "woofing" and "bow-wow-wow-ing" at it. Everyone finds it amusing when I do so! She's got other feline wooden figurines but I simply detest this one! One day, Sharon decided to tidy up the shelf and she left Meow Meow on the floor. I sneaked up to it and I started to chew its ear! Haha! Too bad, it's made of real solid wood (not sawdust). I did not manage to chew off the entire ear, but I will consider biting off its tail the next time. On another occasion, I was being picky with my food and in order to make me finish my food, Karen placed Meow Meow next to my dinner bowl. Obviously, I did not want that horrid feline near my food and in a few seconds, my bowl was all clean! So whenever I start getting picky or fussy during meal times, Meow Meow is always used as a threat...strangely, it works every time as I cannot stand the sight of having Meow Meow near my food! Here are some pictures of me and Meow Meow. I personally like the one of me chewing off its ear :-))

My Red T-Shirt

Here's another lovely old picture of me! Mummy went to the pet shop to buy me some clothes but unfortunately, they did not have my size! They only sold sizes for small toy dogs. Anyway, Mummy's so smart! She went to the children's section of the department store and she got me a nice red t-shirt for kids!

I struggled a while trying to wear it as I had difficulty with my paws. But once I got it on properly, I felt so special! In fact, I even thought for a moment that I was human! I stood on my hind legs at the window and began barking at the whole world to tell them to look at me! A few motorists who drove past looked quite stunned...by my good looks, I guess!

Action For Singapore Dogs

When Sharon first took me in as a pregnant stray, she was clueless and did not know what to do with me. (Sharon has never kept any dogs before I came into her life). Someone told her about this non-profit organisation called Action For Singapore Dogs (ASD). Sharon contacted the ASD and this wonderful guy called Ricky gave Sharon advice and tips on how to care for me. He even managed to find me a vet for my sterilisation and he also played a significant role in the adoption of my pups ! In my humble opinion, Ricky and his team at the ASD are heroes and saints to strays like us! They worked so hard, go all the way out and try their very best to find homes for the poor strays like me. Some of the lucky ones do find good homes; others who have been abused or are seriously malnourished do not make it and they go pass the lush green meadows, clear blue streams and over the rainbow to Doggie Heaven instead. Sometimes, when I think of what my life would have been like (if not for kind people like Sharon and Ricky), I weep with a heavy heart. I am really so fortunate! As a tribute to Sharon, to all the wonderful people at ASD and to all those compassionate people who adopted a stray, I want to say "Thank you for all your love and hard work" (on behalf of all the adopted strays). Please visit the Action For Singapore Dogs webpage (www.asdsingapore.com) and tell your friends about it. Adopt a stray. It might take a lot of time and energy to keep a dog and to be a responsible pet owner, but believe me, the rewards are great; for the love, companionship and loyalty that we give you unconditionally are unparalleled, unsurpassed and out-of-this-world.

Prayer Of A Stray

There is a famous prayer that can be found on the Net and the kind poet (God bless him/ her!) dedicated this poem to all the strays out there. It goes like this:

"PRAYER OF A STRAY"

Dear God please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain
And Dear God I pray as I run in the rain
"That someone will love me and give me a home.
A warm cozy bed I can call my own.
My last owner neglected me and chased me away
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God I'm tired and hungry and cold.
And I'm afraid that I'll never grow old,
They've chased we with sticks and hit me with stones
While I run in the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad God, please help if you can.
For I have become just a "VICTIM OF MAN!"
I'm wormy Dear God and I'm ridden with fleas and
All that I want is an owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good
I won't run away and I'll do as I should.
I don't think I'll make it to long on my own.
Cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die!
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
That I should be given a chance to live.
So Dear God PLEASE, PLEASE answer my prayer
and send me somebody who WILL really care...

-B. Davenport

Potassium

Potassium. Everyone needs it (even dogs). So that's one good reason to eat bananas. But why? Just what does potassium do for us? We need potassium for healthy muscular function, it keeps our bodily fluids in balance and it regulates blood pressure (thus making me a very happy and healthy dog). Potassium also reduces the risk of hypertension and stroke. Humans need about 2,000 to 3,500 mg a day. I think doggies need a smaller amount than that. Anyway, I try to eat 5 servings of fruit a day (I am not fond of veggies unless they come with my Cesar dog food) and the added benefit that I get from eating bananas is that I get hand-fed! Yes! I tried to peel the skin off the banana but my paws ended up mashing the banana instead, so that's royal treatment for me! Other sources of potassium-rich foods include potatoes, cantaloupes, beans, greens, plums and oranges. Lastly, potassium is water-soluble, so instead of boiling, try steaming instead. (Steamed bananas? I can't imagine!!) Anyway, a healthy doggie like me eats my fruit raw without cooking and since I get hand-fed, I am not complaining!

Bedtime Part 2

I managed to dig out some of my old photos yesterday and here's my precious black leather beanbag that I stole from Mummy. It's high quality calfskin leather, not the cheapo PVC sort. Unfortunately, as I've been using it as a trampoline to jump on as part of my fitness routine, part of the seams have come apart and some of the mini styrofoam balls (the fillings) have leaked out. I ate some of the styrofoam and Daddy got worried, so he got me a pillow and a bolster and tried to coax me to sleep human-style. It was a refreshing change but I went back to the beanbag again as I like jumping on it after running around the house like a racehorse. It's like doing the long jump after the 100m in the Olympics.

Brownie's Bedtime Yoga

As a stray, I used to look for shelter from the elements and from people. I'd sleep under trees, beside bushes, at quiet corridors, void decks, etc....but all that has changed since Sharon took me home. First, she gave me a nice plastic tub (see my "Before & After" pictures). Then, I stole Mummy's leather beanbag! I'd race her to the room and before she can sit on it, I'd pounce on it and make it mine! Haha! I would refuse to move! In the end, Mummy gave it to me and it was my bed for a while. That was until recently when I moved to Sharon's and Jules' new house and I learnt that they had a huge bed. One day, when no one was at home, I climbed up and slept on it! Wow! It was so comfortable, I slept like a newborn pup!

One day, Jules came home from a hard day's work and he was dog tired. The first thing he did was to flop onto bed to get some sleep. He saw me on the bed but lacked the energy to brush me off the bed. I also gave him a sad and pitiful look, so I guess he did not have the heart to push me off the bed. It's a little squeezy sometimes but I like stretching out and it's so comfy! I saw a sports programme on TV that day about yoga and the ladies were stretching themselves like rubber! So, while I am sleeping, I am also exercising myself by doing yoga (a new form of yoga perfected by me called Snooze & Slumber Yoga For Canines) while I stretch out on all fours. Who says that you cannot lose weight and keep fit by sleeping? No wonder they call it "beauty sleep"! This time next year, I will have such toned muscles and beautiful long limbs!

A Wedding Wish

I heard that Sharon and Jules are planning to hold their wedding next year in a lovely church! (They went through a civil marriage, but they would still like to have the religious ceremony and God's Blessings). I hope that if I put on my best behaviour, the priest would allow me to witness the ceremony. And if it is not too much to ask for, perhaps I could be their ringbearer! Yes!! I would carry their wedding rings round my collar!! In the meantime, I would have to lose a little bit of weight so that I would look great when I pose for the family potrait...if that does not happen, I hope that Jules will carry me instead...hee hee...
