Mongrels are a dime a dozen here in Asia and many people are shocked when they find out we have two and incredulous when they realise we actually do love them and they share our lives in every way. You see, Mongrels are meant to be guard dogs, outside dogs, dogs you feed scraps to, dogs you never need to pat or say anything kind to, dogs you never bring to the vet, dogs you are never ever supposed to love, dogs who are destined to live and die alone.
Everyone thinks Brownie and Midnight are such fortunate dogs because we rescued them. This is our secret - in truth, we didn't rescue them, they rescued us.
I feel your pain. I never liked siblings nor most other dogs (occasional golden doodle is fine) that come to visit. I especially hate it when they are trying to be friendly. You did a right thing biting the newcommer. Love, Roscoe
